November 1, 2018 - Starting on November 1, 2018, Katharina Thielemann will join our research team as PhD student.

September 23-29, 2018 - Eight members are invited to attent the 36. Informatic Colloquim Lessach (ICOLE) and present topics from our current research. The main focus of the conference is bioinformatics and machine learning.

August 23, 2018 - Starting on September 1, 2018, Jensun Ravichandran will join our research team as PhD student.

June 25 - 27, 2018 - The 10th Mittweidaer Workshop on Computational Intelligence MiWoCI takes place. About 25 researchers and young scientists from different countries meet to discuss their current projects in the field of neural networks and machine learning.

June 8, 2018 -At the Night of Sciences we will present interesting insights into our research. We also provide a little game where the players can compete with our little KI-puppet. You can find us in front of Building 3.

October 2 – 6, 2017 - Members of our group attend the annual Polish-German workshop on Computational Biology, Operations Research, and Machine Learning ICOLE in Lessach, Austria.

June 28 - 30, 2017 - We visit the conference International Workshop on Self-Organizing Maps and Learning Vector Quantization, Clustering and Data Visualization in Nancy, France. Here we present four papers on the topics dissimilarities in nearest prototype vector quantiziers, deep classification learning, relevance learning in complex Fourier Spaces, and fuzzy clustering (see below for details).

March 30, 2017 - We will present one paper at the 16th International Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Soft Computing ICAISC 2017 which will be held in Zakopane, Poland, on June 11-15, 2017.

March 17, 2017 - Two of our papers are accepted at the Nachwuchswissenschaftlerkonferenz NWK18. This conference is made especially for young academics. This year it will be held in Mittweida on May 31.

March 16, 2017 - The topics for programming projects and master thesis are out. If you are interested and did not receive an email, please contact Prof. Villmann.

March 15, 2017 - The date for the 9. MiWoCI is set: June 24 - 26, 2017. For details have a look at the announcement. We are looking forward to an exciting workshop.
